Doug Rickard

Lately Stick Pony has had the pleasure to mount a group of Doug Rickard's recent work which was shown at the Stephen Wirtz Gallery in San Francisco this past May.  Printed at Dickerman Prints and coming from Rickard's series A New American Picture, Doug uses images sourced from Google street view and recontextualizes them in stunning large format pieces focusing on urban decay.

Rickard's work reveals "... the devastating effects of an increasingly stratified American social structure"

In addition to Rickard's website, he also publishes a blog stocked full of essays, reviews and interviews with fine art photographers.

Stick Pony has produced/mounted images of mine that collectors have consistently remarked about - for the beauty and "intelligence" of their presentation.

I'll be using them for a lot more in the indefinite future.
